David Serota

Director

David Serota specializes in telling real stories about real people and scripted work that celebrates our most common bonds such as family, friendship and a purpose driven life. After graduating with a BA in Philosophy from Elmira College and a BA in Directing from Los Angeles Film School, he first garnered attention when he won the Really Real Shorts Award at SXSW in 2007. He has since directed numerous short films, documentaries, branded content and commercials centering on heartfelt stories of the human experience.

He has volunteered as a storyteller by travelling to some of the world’s harshest environments. This includes the Democratic Republic of Congo, Haiti after the earthquake in 2010, Northern Thailand and for an organization in Nicaragua that performs lifesaving heart surgeries for children.

Originally from Philadelphia he now calls Southern California his home with his wife and son. When not working he can be found surfing and cheering on his hometown sports teams.

David’s credits include commercials and branded content for American Express, Levi’s, Participant Media, International Medical Corps, Chevron, ABBVIE, The Hartford, First National Bank, United Health Care, True Value Hardware, COX Home Life, KOA Campgrounds, Microsoft, UPS, Marriott, The Nature Conservancy, JP Morgan Chase, Starbucks and Patagonia.
