Mikael Coleman

Director

Mikael had an unconventional transition into the visual world originally studying pre-pharmacy in college, but quickly realized that wasn’t the path he wanted to pursue after spending some time shadowing a pharmacist. Knowing that editing his own version of music videos on windows movie maker back in high school had a special place in his heart, he jumped into the film studies program at UCF and immediately knew he found his path. Video just always felt like a natural medium for expressing himself.

Mikael’s goal after graduating was to build connections and get real-life experience. He moved to Atlanta and took any video gigs that he could find–creating live concert videos for indie artists at local venues, editing short documentaries, freelancing for companies creating brand and hotel commercials. Mikael’s passion for both cinematography and editing fine-tuned his eye for framing while the content he captured shaped his filming style. His strength as a DP and editor has made his transition into directing music videos, commercials, and fashion-styled videos natural over the last two years. His love for color, visual flow, and experimenting with movement shine through on every project.
